**Sithonia** is the most suitable leg of Halkidiki for cycling. Unlike Kassandra (which is flatter but traffic-heavy) and Athos (almost without cyclists), Sithonia combines roads with less traffic, impressive landscapes, and enough elevation change for more challenging routes.

## Main Route: Circumnavigation of Sithonia

The classic route is the **circumnavigation of the entire Sithonia** — approximately 130-140 km circular route from Nikiti or Neo Marmaras. Most people complete it in 2 days:

- **Day 1**: Neo Marmaras → Sarti (eastern coast) → Ormos Panagias (65 km, mountainous section)
- **Day 2**: Ormos Panagias → Nikiti → Neo Marmaras (75 km, western coast)

Uphills: Significant inland — Itamos (811m) requires good physical condition.

## Shorter Routes

- **Neo Marmaras – Parthenonas – Sarti** (~50 km, ideal day trip)
- **Vourvourou – Ormos Panagias – Nikiti** (~35 km, easier)
- **Island Tour of Diaporos by kayak + bike** (combined experience)

## Practical Information

- **Rental**: A few rental shops in Neo Marmaras and Nikiti. Prices: 15-30 euros/day for mountain bikes.
