It combines two elements that are rarely found together: an excellent beach and panoramic views from a traditional settlement above. Afitos is situated 95 km from Thessaloniki (1 hour 25 minutes drive), on the east coast of Kassandra, about 3 km north of Kallithea. The village is built on a high rocky cliff overlooking the sea — from there, the view over the Toroneos Gulf to Sithonia is impressive. The main beach (Alykes) is sandy, of moderate length, and partially organized with sunbeds and beach bars. Access: by car to parking, then a descent via stairs or a path from the village. The most unique feature is the small hidden coves along the cliffs of Afitos — caves and rocky edges accessible by swimming or a small boat. They are excellent for snorkeling — crystal clear waters, sea bream, octopuses. Some of these coves require a bit of experience to reach (rocky access). The village above is worth a visit — stone alleys, traditional cafes-restaurants with views from the cliff, and two small folklore museums. Suggested combination: swimming at the beach in the morning, climbing to the village for lunch, relaxing with a view. Water sports are limited (the beach has more of a "boutique" character than an "action" one). Kayak and SUP rentals are available.
