## Description

Galini is a small sandy beach in north-eastern Sithonia, about 2.5 kilometres from Ormos Panagias. It has shallow, clear water and sand, and suits families with children and anyone who wants a quieter swim than the area's organised beaches.

The beach is mostly free, without permanent facilities, so bring an umbrella, water and whatever you need for the day. Because it's small, in August it fills up faster than the long beaches, while in June and September it's usually very quiet.

Lagoon beach is about a kilometre away and Latoura a little further, so you can switch beaches during the day. For food, the fish tavernas on the harbour at Ormos Panagias are a few minutes' drive away, and the cruises along Mount Athos leave from there too, if you'd like to combine a swim with a boat trip.
