## Description

Kampoudi, also known as Akrathos, is a beach in a bay about two to three kilometres before Ouranoupoli, on the Athos peninsula. The shore is sandy with pebbles in places, the water clear and usually calm, and the beach has been awarded a Blue Flag.

It has a mixed character: in front of the hotels there are organised sections with sunbeds, while between them there's room for anyone who wants to spread their own towel. Across the water you can see Ammouliani and the Drenia islets, a view that makes the beach pleasant all day.

It's a practical stop if you're travelling between Ierissos and Ouranoupoli, with easy access from the main road. Ouranoupoli, with its Byzantine tower, tavernas and Mount Athos cruises, is a few minutes away, as is Develiki beach. In July and August the organised sections fill up, so for quiet, come in the morning.
