The shore is sandy with a shallow seabed and usually calm water, which makes it a good choice for families with young children. The beach is free, without permanent facilities, so bring an umbrella, water and whatever you'll need for the day. Because it's a little outside Ormos, it usually has fewer people than the beaches in the village, even in August. Latoura is about 700 metres away and Galini a kilometre, so you can switch beaches with a short walk. In Ormos Panagias, a few minutes' drive away, you'll find fish tavernas, cafés and a mini-market, as well as the small harbour where the cruises along Mount Athos and the boats to the Diaporos islets leave.
