It has golden sand and a shallow seabed that continues for quite a few metres, which makes it one of the most convenient beaches in the area for families with young children. The stretch a little outside the centre is free, without sunbeds, and pines behind the sand give natural shade in the afternoon. If you prefer an organised beach, closer to the village centre and towards Hanioti you'll find sunbeds and beach bars. The beach faces east, towards Sithonia, so it gets sun early and is quiet before the crowds arrive. About a kilometre away is the centre of Pefkochori, with tavernas, cafés and supermarkets, while further south, near Paliouri, is the Glarokavos lagoon with calm, shallow water.
