It is situated in the eponymous small community near Cape Poseidon, 115 km from Thessaloniki and 5 km from Poseidi. It’s not one of the most well-known beaches in the region, which adds to its charm. The coastline is sandy with small pebbles in some areas, a shallow seabed, and pine trees at the back. It stretches for about 500 meters. It is partially organized — with a few sunbeds and a kiosk — but a large portion remains free. Due to its small size and relative seclusion, it rarely gets overly crowded. The clientele mainly consists of locals who know the area, along with a few visitors exploring the southwestern tip of Kassandra. It’s a good "alternative" beach if the more famous spots are full. The quaint little village of Portes has 2-3 fish taverns offering decent food — local fish, mussels, and traditional preparations. Prices are affordable. A great option for lunch after a swim. For snorkeling, the rocky edges of the beach provide excellent visibility. The same shores are also used for fishing by local fishermen — don’t be surprised if you see 2-3 with rods at nearby rocky spots. The location is close to the Poseidon Lighthouse (5 km) — you can combine a visit to the beach with a sunset at the lighthouse for a complete day out.
