## Description

Portokali — also known as Kabourotripes — is undoubtedly the most stunning beach in Sithonia and perhaps all of Halkidiki. It’s not just a single beach but a complex of small coves nestled among white rocky formations, with turquoise-emerald waters that resemble the Caribbean more than mainland Greece.

Located on the southwestern coast of Sithonia, between Sykia and Toroni. It is 145 km from Thessaloniki (about 2 hours and 25 minutes by car). The nearest bases are Sykia (5 km) or Sarti (12 km).

IMPORTANT: The last 2 km is a dirt road. A compact car can manage slowly, while an SUV is more comfortable. It may be difficult after rain.

The name "Portokali" comes from the orange hues of the rocks at sunset. The name "Kabourotripes" refers to the caves and holes that crabs have carved into the rocks.

It’s one of the best snorkeling spots in Halkidiki — rocky edges with rich marine life, including bream, octopuses, salouvarthes, and red mullets. Bring your own gear — there is no rental available.

LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURE: zero organization, zero showers, zero toilets, zero beach bars. A cantina may appear on peak days. Bring plenty of water (2L/person), snacks, sunscreen, a hat, water shoes (for sea urchins), and take all your trash with you.

Best times: 8:00-11:00 or 17:00-19:30. Avoid 12:00-15:00 in the summer. It is part of the protected Natura 2000 area — respect the environment.
