## Description

Poseidi is located at the southwestern tip of Kassandra — a "tongue" of land that extends 2 km into the sea. This geographical feature creates a unique characteristic: beaches on two sides. On the northern side, the waters are calm and sheltered from northern winds. On the southern side, the sea is more open with small waves. This way, you can choose a side depending on the day's conditions.

The most impressive beach of the cape is Trani Ammos — a sandy stretch that runs from one side of the land tongue to the other. Fine white sand, shallow waters, and a pine forest at the back. Photographically, it is one of the most stunning landscapes in Halkidiki. Access: by car to the parking area, then a 5-minute walk.

At the southern tip of the cape stands the historic Poseidi lighthouse, built in 1864. It is one of the most beautiful spots for sunset in Halkidiki — a 270° view of the horizon, the sun sets over the open waters of the Thermaic Gulf, and on clear days, Mount Olympus can be seen on the western horizon.

Poseidi is 110 km from Thessaloniki (1h 45m drive), 35 km from Kallithea, and 25 km from Pefkochori. The area also has archaeological interest — there was a sanctuary of Poseidon in ancient times, and a few ruins are visible.

For snorkeling, the rocky edges of the cape are excellent — clear waters, bream, octopuses, and red mullets in shallow waters. Bring water and snacks with you — there are 1-2 kiosks, but options are limited. Free parking at the ends of the cape, about a 200-300m walk to the beach.
