## Description

Stratoni Beach is located in northeastern Halkidiki, in the small village of the same name. It is 100 km from Thessaloniki (about 1 hour and 35 minutes by car), 12 km south of Ierissos.

The beach is a sandy stretch of 2 km that has received a Blue Flag in most years. It is partially organized with sunbeds available at certain spots.

Stratoni is a small village with a mining history — the residents are involved with the nearby Stratoni mines. The beach is more of a "local" spot than a tourist destination.

The wider area has seen continuous mining activity since ancient times. During the Byzantine era, it was an important source of silver for imperial coins. Today, Hellenic Gold extracts gold and silver from the surrounding facilities.

For swimming: safe shallow waters. For snorkeling: moderate opportunities.

Clientele: local residents, some foreign tourists exploring eastern Halkidiki. Less crowded than the more famous beaches.

In the village, there are notable fish taverns serving fresh fish. Prices are affordable: €25-40 for a table for 2. It is one of the cheaper accommodation areas in Halkidiki.

From Stratoni, you can easily visit: Ierissos (12 km), Olympiada (12 km), Stratoni (7 km — a mountain village). Free parking available.
