The area of Vourvourou is not a single beach but a coastline with multiple small coves, both sandy and rocky, connected by coastal paths. It is located 115 km (1 hour 45 minutes drive) from Thessaloniki. It is 6 km east of Agios Nikolaos and 8 km from Karidi (the most well-known beach in the area). The main sandy beach of Vourvourou is partially organized with sunbeds and beach bars. The shallow seabed, white sand, and turquoise waters create a beautiful setting. While not as impressive as Karidi, it offers less crowding and easier access from parking. The most notable feature of Vourvourou is the small harbor from which cruises to the Diaporos Islands depart — one of the top experiences in Halkidiki. Full-day cruises (10:00 AM - 5:30 PM) include 3-4 stops for swimming at hidden beaches of the islands and a meal. Cost: 30-45 euros for adults. For those looking for a "base" in the area with a wide variety of options, Vourvourou is ideal — you can visit a different beach every day (Karidi, Diaporos, Livari, Lathoura) without driving far.
