## Zografou Beach: A Hidden Gem of Sithonia

**Zografou Beach** is one of the lesser-known yet particularly beautiful beaches of eastern Sithonia. It is located south of Vourvourou, in an area where the pine forest meets the sea, creating a landscape that resembles more of a small island than a beach of mainland Greece.

Although it is close to popular destinations like Karidi and Fava, it remains significantly quieter. It mainly attracts travelers seeking **clear waters**, **snorkeling**, and a **relaxed atmosphere**.

The beach is known for:

The area hosts rich marine life, making it particularly popular for snorkeling and underwater exploration.

## Access and Facilities

### Parking

Access is via the area of camping Porto Elea / Zografou Beach. There is organized parking within or next to the camping facilities.

- In July and August, available spots usually fill up from 11:00 to 13:00, especially on weekends.
- During certain periods, there may be a small entrance fee for day visitors using the camping facilities.

### Access

Zografou Beach is about 8-9 kilometers from Vourvourou and approximately 20 kilometers from Sarti. Access is via the main road of Sithonia through a secondary road leading to the camping.

- Most vehicles can reach without issue, although at certain points the road is not in excellent condition.
- A regular car is sufficient and a 4x4 is not required under normal conditions.

## At the Beach

The beach is not large, which contributes to a more tranquil atmosphere.

- The shore consists of a combination of golden sand and small pebbles.
- In several spots, there are impressive rocks that create small natural coves.
- The waters are exceptionally clear with green and turquoise hues.

In some areas, the depth increases relatively quickly, which is why the beach is preferred more by adults, couples, and snorkeling enthusiasts than by families with very small children. The hills and pines around the bay offer natural shade at certain points during the day.

## Beach Bar & Services

The beach is served by the facilities of the camping located just behind it.

- At times, a beach bar operates and basic services are provided for visitors.
- The area is particularly known for water sports, diving, and snorkeling due to the clarity of the waters and the rocky formations of the seabed.

It is not a crowded organized beach like a beach club. The environment remains more natural and serene compared to many well-known beaches of Halkidiki.
