## Description

Zografou beach is on the east coast of Sithonia, south of Vourvourou, on the stretch where the pine forest comes down to the sea. It's less known than the area's famous beaches and therefore quieter, with sand, small pebbles in places and very clear water.

The beach is free and unorganised, so bring an umbrella, water and something to eat. The rock formations at the ends make Zografou a good choice for snorkelling, while in the middle the bottom is sandy and pleasant for swimming. The pines behind the shore give shade in places, mostly in the afternoon.

The beach faces east, towards Mount Athos, so it gets sun early and the sea is usually calm in the morning. Koutloumousi and Banana beaches are about a kilometre away, and Robinson a little over two, so if you want a change there are options very close by. For food, the tavernas of Vourvourou are a few minutes' drive away.
