Feasible even as a day trip. **Traffic**: The peninsula's loop road gets heavy on July-August weekends, especially at the entrance (Potidea canal) heading in 9:00-11:00 and back towards Thessaloniki 17:00-20:00. Plan around it. **Facilities**: Almost every major beach also has a free section — you are never obliged to pay for a sunbed. At the beach bars, a sunbed often comes with a minimal purchase. **When**: June and September are the smart months here too. Kassandra's extra advantage: with the largest tourist infrastructure, more places stay open in September than on the other peninsulas. ## Practical notes for international visitors Kassandra is the most developed of Halkidiki's three peninsulas — which for international visitors means the smoothest infrastructure: English menus are the norm on the east coast, cards work almost everywhere, and the airport transfer is barely an hour.
