# Sykia, Halkidiki: Southern Sithonia’s Authentic Village > Southern Sithonia’s head village: a real village 1.5 km from its bay and Klimataria beach, between Sarti, Toroni and Kalamitsi. Sykia is Sithonia's answer to coastal tourism: one of the peninsula's oldest villages, built a kilometre and a half from the sea, with 1,500 people who live here through the winter too. From Thessaloniki it is ~140 km (2h 15m); from Neos Marmaras ~30 km.
