# Halkidiki in July & August

> Peak season — heat, life, energy

## Halkidiki in July & August
July and August are the **heart of the season**: hot weather, crystal-clear sea and a buzzing atmosphere on every beach. It is the liveliest but also the busiest period, peaking around the 15 August holiday, when Greeks travel too.

## Weather & Sea

- Air temperatures of **30-35°C**, with brilliant sunshine every day.
- The sea reaches **25-27°C** — ideal for hours in the water.
- The afternoon meltemi wind cools things down and favours windsurf at Kalogria and Possidi.

## Life & Events
The evenings come alive with **beach bars in Kassandra** (Kallithea, Sani) that run until dawn, while the hidden coves of [Sithonia](https://chalkidikihub.gr/guide/sithonia) offer calm away from the crowds. Summer hosts festivals, concerts and open-air events across the region, from the Sani Festival to local village feasts with live music and dancing.

## Tips

- Book [accommodation](https://chalkidikihub.gr/guide/hotels) very early — in August almost everything sells out.
- Head to organised beaches early in the morning for a spot and keep **cash** for canteens and sunbeds.
- Rent a [car](https://chalkidikihub.gr/guide/car-rental) for flexibility, but allow for traffic on the roads during the busiest days.
