# Thessaloniki to Halkidiki Transport Guide

## KTEL Halkidiki (Public Bus)

The most affordable option. Buses depart from the **KTEL Halkidikis bus station** in Thessaloniki (68 Karakasi Street, east of the city centre).

**Important:** KTEL does not stop at SKG airport. You must first reach the city centre (airport bus 01X, €2, 45 minutes) or take a taxi to the KTEL station (€15-20).

- **Cost:** €60-80 to Kassandra, €70-90 to Sithonia, €80-100 to Ouranoupoli

- **Advantages:** Door-to-door, child seats on request, no waiting

## Taxi

Taxis are available at the airport but **more expensive** than pre-booked transfers.

- Airport → Sithonia: €100-120

- Airport → Ouranoupoli: €110-130

- **Tip:** Always agree on a price before departure — meters are rarely used for long distances

## Car Rental (Recommended)

The **ideal choice** if you want to explore freely. Agencies at SKG airport include Avis, Hertz, Sixt, Enterprise, and locals (Auto Union, Avance). Rates: €25-50/day depending on season.

- SKG Airport → Kassandra: 80 km, ~1 hour via the new highway

- SKG Airport → Sithonia (Nikiti): 110 km, ~1.5 hours

- SKG Airport → Ouranoupoli: 130 km, ~2 hours

**Driving tips:** Roads are generally good. Gas stations close early in small villages — fill up on the main road. Parking is free almost everywhere except Ouranoupoli centre in peak season.
