Neos Marmaras is the largest and most cosmopolitan resort of Sithonia, built amphitheatrically above a picturesque little harbour on the western coast of the second leg. It combines the vibrancy of a developed destination with the character of a traditional fishing village.
It has full tourist infrastructure: a marina, a picturesque harbour with fishing boats, shops, restaurants and lively nightlife, without losing its charm. It's the natural "capital" of Sithonia and an ideal base for the whole leg.
Next to it is the legendary Porto Carras complex — one of the largest resorts in Greece, with a marina, golf and one of the country's largest vineyards and wineries, open for visits and tastings.
Nearby are beautiful shores such as Paradisos, Lagomandra and Castello, with crystal-clear water and pines reaching the sea.
At the harbour and along the seafront you'll find fish tavernas, restaurants and cocktail bars — from a calm dinner beside the boats to a lively night out.
It's about 1.5 hours by car from Thessaloniki. Above the village sits traditional Parthenon, while Elia and Vourvourou are close by.
