From the little harbour of Ormos Panagias, daily cruises set sail along the western coast of Mount Athos, viewing the monasteries from the sea — the ideal option, especially for women, who are not allowed to enter the monastic state.
Very close are beautiful shores such as Latoura, Trani Ammouda and Lagonisi, with clear water and a pine-covered environment.
In the fish tavernas by the harbour you'll enjoy fresh fish and seafood, with a view of the boats and the bay.
It's about 1.5 hours by car from Thessaloniki. Next to it is traditional Agios Nikolaos, while Nikiti and Vourvourou are close by.
