Paliouri is a village at the south-eastern tip of Kassandra, near the "toe" of the first leg. It combines a traditional village core with organised beaches and a lush, pine-covered environment.
Unlike the big, crowded resorts, Paliouri keeps a calmer, family atmosphere, with nature and lovely shores. It's also popular for camping and more natural beaches.
Nearby are beautiful shores such as Chrouso, Glarokavos (a natural lagoon/marina) and Golden Beach, with shallow, clear water ideal for families.
In the village and on the beaches you'll find tavernas with fish and local dishes, at a relaxed, unpretentious pace.
It's about 1.5–2 hours by car from Thessaloniki. Nearby are Agia Paraskevi with its thermal baths, Pefkochori and Hanioti.
Ideal for families and those wanting calm, pine-backed beaches away from the bustle. Main season is May–September.
