Simantra preserves refugee traditions and a genuine village way of life, with farming, olive groves and a calm atmosphere, away from the tourist crowds of the coastal destinations.
Although not on the coast, it's within convenient distance of the Moudania beaches and Agios Mamas, making a daily trip to the sea easy.
It's only ~40 minutes by car from Thessaloniki, making it an easy choice. Very close by are Palaiokastro, Portaria and ancient Olynthos, one of the most important archaeological sites in Halkidiki.
