Without the crowds of the big resorts, Xiropotamo offers calm and easy access to the beaches and sights of the Athos area, such as Mount Athos.
Very close is Develiki beach and the long sandy shores of Ierissos, with clear, shallow water.
In the village and around it you'll find traditional tavernas with local dishes and fresh fish on the nearby shores.
It's about 1.5–2 hours by car from Thessaloniki. Very close are Ierissos, Tripiti (departure point for Ammouliani) and Nea Roda.
