When to visit

Almost year-round: These beaches never really fill up. The only exception: the famous Kavourotrypes/Orange Beach fills up 9-12 on July-August weekends. Best season: May-June and September-October — you basically have the beach to yourself. Nice weather without crowds: September weekdays are the absolute sweet spot.

Practical tips for free beaches

Bring everything: Water (at least 2L/person), snacks, umbrella, sunscreen. No canteen.
Cleanliness: Pack a rubbish bag — take it with you. These beaches stay clean because visitors respect them.
Parking: Some (Kavourotrypes) need a 5-15-min walk. Bring suitable shoes.

Shade: Pine trees usually provide natural shade — but not everywhere. Bring an umbrella or tarp.
