Flogita is a small seaside village in northern Kassandra, located between Nea Moudania and Nea Potidea. With around 1,500 permanent residents, it operates as one of the most "family-friendly" vacation spots in the region — without the mass tourist pressure of the more famous villages (Kallithea, Hanioti), yet with decent infrastructure for a comfortable holiday.
Location and How to Get There
3 km southeast of Nea Moudania, at the beginning of Kassandra. It is 70 kilometers from Thessaloniki — just a 55-minute drive. From SKG airport, it takes 65 minutes (65 km). It is one of the closest destinations in Halkidiki to Thessaloniki.
With KTEL Halkidiki, buses to Nea Moudania run every 30 minutes — from there, you can take a taxi or local bus to Flogita (5-7 euros).
A Bit of History
The name "Flogita" comes from the intense sun exposure of the area — the beaches are "burned" by the sun. The modern name and structure of the village were shaped after the refugee settlement of 1922. It is one of the newest villages in Kassandra as an organized settlement — it has mainly developed as a holiday center over the last 40 years.
The Beach
The beach of Flogita stretches for 2 kilometers along the coast. It is sandy with a shallow bottom, ideal for children. It has a Blue Flag most years. Partially organized (near the center of the village), partially free (at the edges). Pine trees provide natural shade in some areas.
Compared to the more "famous" beaches of Kassandra, Flogita has the advantage of remaining quieter even in August. You can always find space, and the atmosphere is more relaxed.

- Traditional cooked dishes: giant beans, spinach rice, pastitsada
- Grilled items: kebabs, burgers, soutzouk loukou
- Halkidiki olives as an appetizer in all taverns
Prices are affordable: 30-45 euros for a table for 2.
Accommodation
Flogita mainly offers family-run accommodations, studios, and apartments. There are no large hotel complexes. Options:
