Sýmanta is a small village in northwestern Halkidiki, at an altitude of 80m, at the entrance of the peninsula. With around 700 permanent residents, it is one of the first villages you come across when arriving from Thessaloniki. It is not coastal and does not have a tourist nature — it is a regular agricultural community with olive cultivation and a small winemaking tradition.
Where it is located and how to get there
In northwestern Halkidiki, 10 km from Nea Moudania. It is 60 kilometers from Thessaloniki (50 minutes drive). On the way to the rest of Halkidiki.
With KTEL Halkidiki, the routes to Nea Moudania often pass through Sýmanta.
A bit of history
The name comes from the Byzantine "sýmanta" — ecclesiastical percussion metals used instead of bells. The area had several monastic estates during Byzantine times.
Modern Sýmanta developed as an agricultural community in more recent times, with a refugee presence after 1922 as well as local families.

Sýmanta does not have tourist attractions in the usual sense. It is a regular small village with:

Why you would come here
Sýmanta is not a typical tourist destination. Reasons to visit:
