The Xenophon Monastery, founded in 998 AD, is one of the most significant and historic monasteries of Mount Athos. It was established by the monk Xenophon, who, according to tradition, came from the area of Constantinople. Important relics of the monastery include wonderful icons, such as the icon of the Virgin Mary of Xenophon, as well as relics of Saints that attract pilgrims from all over the world.
