Chrousso Beach is located in southern Sithonia, in the broader area of Porto Koufo. It is small and relatively secluded — less known to foreign tourists but a favorite among those who explore southern Sithonia more deeply.
It is 150 km from Thessaloniki (about 2 hours and 25 minutes by car). From Porto Koufo: 4 km. From Sykia: 7 km.
The coastline is sandy with pebbles in some areas, about 350 meters long, with shallow waters close to the shore and deeper further out. It is free and not officially organized. A cantina may operate on peak days.
The waters are exceptionally clear due to the relative isolation and lack of mass usage. There are decent opportunities for snorkeling along the rocky edges. Visibility is usually 7-10 meters.
Clientele: locals, groups familiar with the area, nature lovers, and those seeking tranquility. It rarely gets overly crowded.
For swimming: decent with suitably shallow waters near the shore. It gets deeper after 10-15 meters. Kids are fine, but caution is needed near the rocky edges (water shoes are recommended).
Access: via a provincial road from a nearby village. Some sections may be unpaved. Parking is irregular at the edges.
Bring water, snacks, a towel, and plenty of sunscreen due to the limited infrastructure. Shade: minimal. Combine your visit with a trip to nearby Porto Koufo for a seafood meal at traditional tavernas.
The beach is located in Παραλία Χρουσώ, Παλιούρι, Kassandra, Halkidiki.
