Golden Beach

Golden Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Sithonia, featuring fine golden sand — from which it derives its name. It is relatively isolated from the main tourist centers in the area, giving it a relaxed and "untouched" atmosphere.

The coastline is sandy, of moderate length (~600 meters), with shallow waters. A pine forest at the back provides natural shade. It is partially organized — sunbeds and a beach bar in some sections, free in others.

The waters are crystal clear turquoise. There are decent opportunities for snorkeling at the rocky edges — with fish like bream, salema, and octopus.

For swimming: excellent with safe shallow waters, ideal for children. The sand is nice for playing. Clientele: mixed — families, couples, groups of friends.

Golden Beach is one of the most photogenic beaches in the area. In the morning and at sunset, the combination of golden sand, turquoise waters, and pines creates stunning visuals.

Access: via provincial roads. Free parking at the edges — it can fill up on peak weekends in August but is generally easy to find.

Bring water, snacks, towels, and sunscreen. Canteens and beach bars operate during the season, but it's good to be self-sufficient.

For a complete experience, combine it with a visit to a nearby village for lunch. Best period: June-September.
