Agios Georgios beach is located in Ammouliani, in the northeastern part of Halkidiki. It is named after a small chapel dedicated to Saint George in the surrounding area. It is one of the quietest beaches on the island.
The shore is sandy with small pebbles, of small to medium length, with a shallow bottom. Less organized than Megali Ammos — mostly free with some sunbeds available at certain spots.
The atmosphere is more relaxed and 'untouched' compared to the more famous beaches of Ammouliani. Visitors include locals, families, and couples seeking tranquility.
The waters are exceptionally clear turquoise. For swimming: ideal shallow waters for children. For snorkeling: decent opportunities at the rocky edges with sea bream, salouvaroi, and octopuses.
The view is unique — from here you can see the Athos peninsula across the way, and on clear days, the pointed peak of Mount Athos at 2,033 meters.
Access: via a provincial road from the village of Ammouliani. Parking is irregular along the edges of the beach. Bring water, snacks, towels, and sunscreen due to limited facilities.
For lunch, you can return to the village of Ammouliani for fish at a traditional taverna. Best time to visit: June-September, with September being ideal for peace.
The beach is located in Άγιος Γεώργιος, Αμμουλιανή, Mainland Halkidiki, Halkidiki.
