Toroni Beach — History and Sea
The beach **Toroni** is located in southwestern Sithonia and is one of the few beaches in Halkidiki with **archaeological interest**. Ancient Toroni was an important city in the 5th-4th century BC — it is mentioned by Thucydides as a member of the Halkidiki Confederacy. The underwater remains (temple columns, sections of walls) are visible from snorkeling in shallow waters.
The Beach Today
Sandy, approximately 2 km long, with a shallow seabed. Partially organized with sunbeds in some areas, free in others. The waters are clear — rarely crowded compared to other parts of Sithonia. Ideal for:
