Platania Beach

Platania Beach is located in Sithonia, primarily known to locals and those exploring less touristy routes. Its name comes from the plane trees in the surrounding area. It is a small cove, sandy with pebbles in some spots, featuring a shallow bottom in places and deeper areas elsewhere. There is free access without official organization — some sunbeds may appear on the busier days.

The waters are clear, and the beach offers a decent snorkeling experience at the rocky edges with moderate marine life. The clientele consists of local Greeks and groups who know Sithonia well. It rarely gets overly crowded.

For swimming: decent, suitable for adults and older children. For snorkeling: interesting at the rocky edges.

Access is via a provincial road from a nearby village. Parking is irregular at the edges of the beach. Bring water, snacks, towels, and sunscreen due to limited facilities.

For a complete experience, combine your visit with a meal in a nearby traditional village. The best time to visit is from June to September, with September being particularly nice for tranquility and warm waters.
