Nea Iraklia

Nea Iraklia is an organised seaside resort on Halkidiki's mainland coast, very close to Nea Kallikratia and a short distance from Thessaloniki. It's a popular, easy family destination beside the city, with refugee roots like many villages in the area.

Beaches

The main beach, Vergia, lies next to the village — sandy, with shallow water and fully organised, ideal for children. The wider coast (Anthoupoli, Mykoniatika) offers several more spots with loungers, cafés and beach bars.

What sets it apart

The combination of a very short distance (~30–40 minutes from Thessaloniki) and an organised, shallow beach makes it ideal for quick family getaways, a day at the beach and weekends throughout spring and summer.

You'll find fish tavernas, cafés and bars along the beach, at a relaxed, family pace, with life that runs late on summer evenings.

Getting there and around

Very close by are Nea Kallikratia, Lakkoma and Agios Pavlos, sharing the same easily reached, shallow Thermaic coast.
