Bara Beach

Bara beach lies in the Vourvourou area of northeastern Sithonia — about 2.5 km from the settlement. The name ("bar") describes the sandy strip the shore forms in the shallows.

The shore is sandy with a few pebbles, short in length, with the Vourvourou gulf's trademark shallow, warm water — almost a lagoon on calm days.

Free and unorganized — the quiet alternative when famous Karydi next door fills up. Bring an umbrella and water.

From here the whole Vourvourou "neighbourhood" is minutes away: Karydi, Livari, and licence-free boat rental for the Diaporos loop.

Best time: early morning, when the gulf is still and the sand bar shows clearly beneath the surface. Pair it with a boat rental and Diaporos with its sandy coves lies directly opposite — Vourvourou's classic "perfect day".
