Bara Beach

Bara Beach is located in the area of Vourvourou, in northeastern Sithonia — about 2.5 km from the village. The name ('bara') describes the sandy strip formed by the coastline in the shallow waters.

The beach is sandy with a few pebbles, short in length, featuring the characteristic shallow, warm waters of Vourvourou Bay — almost a lagoon on calm days.

It is free and unorganized — a quiet alternative when the famous Karydi next door gets crowded. Bring an umbrella and water.

From here, you can reach the entire 'neighborhood' of Vourvourou in just a few minutes: Karydi, Livari, and boat rentals without a license for a tour around Diaporos.

Best time: early in the morning when the bay is still and the 'bara' is clearly visible beneath the surface. If you combine it with a boat rental, Diaporos and its sandy beaches are just across — the classic 'perfect day' in Vourvourou.
