Kastrí Beach (Kastrí Loutrá) is located near Nikiti, in the northwestern part of Sithonia. It is one of the most organized and well-known beaches in northern Sithonia, often awarded the Blue Flag. It is 110 km (1 hour 45 minutes drive) from Thessaloniki.
The coastline is sandy, approximately 1 km long, with a shallow seabed. A pine forest at the back provides shade. Full amenities are available: sunbeds, beach bars, showers, and water sports.
Due to its proximity to Nikiti and its good facilities, Kastrí is consistently popular with families with children. The shallow waters are safe, and the combined experience of "beach + nearby town of Nikiti" is very practical.
In the surrounding area, there is also the name "Kastrí Loutrá" due to traditional thermal springs that used to exist here — they are no longer officially operating as spas, but the name has remained.
For snorkeling: the rocky edges of the beach offer decent opportunities — clear waters, sea bream, octopuses.
In Nikiti (3 km from the beach), there are full amenities: ATMs, pharmacies, supermarkets, traditional taverns with authentic cuisine and affordable prices. A great spot for a meal after swimming.
From Kastrí, you can easily visit other beautiful beaches in northern Sithonia: Elia (5 km south), Mola Kaliva (8 km south), Vourvourou beaches (25 km east).
Parking is free at the edges, with some paid spots near the front. Best period: June-September.
The beach faces west, towards the Toroneos Gulf with Kassandra across the water — it is worth staying late: the sunset is among the best in northern Sithonia. In July and August arrive before 11:00 to claim a spot near the pine shade.
From Ormos Panagias (6 km) day cruises to Mount Athos depart in summer — a convenient idea for a change of pace from the beach.
The beach is located in Παραλία Καστρί, Σιθωνία, Sithonia, Halkidiki.
