Mousiou beach lies on Ammouliani — Halkidiki's only inhabited island — about 2 km from the village and harbour.
The shore is small, sand with patches of pebble, and a shallow bottom that warms quickly. It is free and unorganized — a "local" alternative for those who want the island without the bustle of Alykes.
The water is clean and usually calm, as its position is sheltered inside the Mount Athos gulf. Bring an umbrella and water — there are no facilities.
Combine it with a loop of the island: Alykes for the postcard, Agios Georgios for quiet with an Athos view, and a fish taverna at the harbour before the ferry back. Access via the 10-minute ferry from Tripiti and a short ride across the island.
Best period: June and September, when the island empties but the ferries stay frequent. In August prefer the morning hours — and on the island, a bicycle is the most enjoyable way to get here.
The beach is located in Μουσιού, Αμμουλιανή, Mainland Halkidiki, Halkidiki.
Mousiou is a free/unorganized beach.
Mousiou is a free beach without sunbeds. Bring your own umbrella!
