Moudounou

Moudounou is a small free beach on the east coast of Kassandra, right below Afytos, about 300 metres from the village. It's one of the beaches you can walk down to from the traditional settlement, which suits anyone staying there who wants a quick swim without the car.

There are no facilities, so bring an umbrella and water. The shore faces east, towards Sithonia, so it gets sun early in the morning, while in the afternoon the Afytos cliff casts shade in places. The water is clear, and the rocky ends make Moudounou pleasant for snorkelling too.

Afytos's main beach is about 300 metres away, Liosi 500 and Varkes less than a kilometre, so you can switch beaches without taking the car. After your swim, the climb up to Afytos leads to the square with its tavernas and cafés, where the view over the Toroneos Gulf is one of the finest in the area.
