Possidi beach is on the west coast of Kassandra, about a kilometre from the village, and stands out for the long, narrow sand spit that runs out into the sea with a lighthouse at its tip. The shore is sandy with a shallow seabed, and the beach has a Blue Flag.
Sections of the beach are organised, with sunbeds, beach bars and parking, while towards the end of the spit there are freer spots. Because you can swim on both sides of the sand, you can usually find calm water on one side or the other, depending on the wind. The shallow water makes it suitable for children.
Near the cape, the ancient sanctuary of Poseidon has been excavated — the source of the name. The beach faces west, so the sunset over the sea is one of the finest on Kassandra. Myti beach is about two and a half kilometres away, and for food and accommodation the nearest villages are Possidi, Kalandra and Fourka.
The beach is located in Ποσείδι, Κασσάνδρα, Kassandra, Halkidiki.
