📅 Day 1 — Arrival in Halkidiki + Sani
Morning: Arrive in Thessaloniki (if flying) or drive in. From SKG airport → Nea Moudania ~45 minutes (45 km). Lunch stop at one of the Nea Moudania tavernas.
Afternoon: Continue to Sani (~30 km from Moudania). Check in. Relax by the pool or at Sani beach — one of the most organised in the area, Blue Flag certified.
Evening: Dinner at a taverna in Sani Marina or nearby. Early night — the journey is tiring.
📅 Day 2 — Kallithea + Possidi (Kassandra)
Morning: Late breakfast. Drive to Possidi (~25 km) — the most photogenic beach on western Kassandra with its characteristic spit of land. Bring snacks and water.
Lunch: At the Possidi lighthouse — there's a taverna next to the beach.
Afternoon: Return to Sani or move on to Kallithea (~20 km) — Kassandra's nightlife hub. Beach bars, beach clubs, restaurants.
Evening: Dinner and cocktails in Kallithea. Stay in Kallithea or head back to Sani.
📅 Day 3 — Move to Sithonia (Nikiti)

Lunch: Tavernas in old Nikiti (the upper area).
Afternoon: Check into your stay. Swim at Nikiti or Agios Ioannis beach.
Evening: Walk around the picturesque little harbour. Nikiti has a relaxed nightlife with plenty of nice bars.
📅 Day 4 — Kavourotrypes + Sarti (Eastern Sithonia)
Morning: Drive to Kavourotrypes ("Orange Beach") — ~45 km from Nikiti. One of Greece's most photogenic beaches, with rocky formations and turquoise water. You drive to a point and then walk a short distance.
Lunch: Beach snack (bring your own) or tavernas in nearby Sykia.
Afternoon: Continue to Sarti (~10 km). Sarti beach has close-up views of Mount Athos. Stroll the village.
Evening: Dinner at a fish taverna in Sarti. Back to your accommodation.
📅 Day 5 — Fava / Karydi (Western Sithonia)
Morning: Drive to Fava beach and Karydi (~25 km from Nikiti). Two of the loveliest beaches on western Sithonia with crystal-clear water.
Lunch: Eat in Vourvourou (the nearby village) — one of the most cosmopolitan areas of Sithonia.
Afternoon: Snorkel or SUP in the sheltered beaches around Vourvourou. Visit the small island of Diaporos if a boat is available.
Evening: Sunset dinner in Vourvourou — beautiful views toward the small islets scattered across the lagoon.
📅 Day 6 — Move to Ouranoupoli (Athos)
Morning: Check out of Sithonia. Drive to Ouranoupoli (~95 km, 1.5 hours). It's the gateway to Mount Athos.
Lunch: Eat at one of the harbour tavernas. Visit the Prosforion Tower (12th century).
Afternoon: Relax on the Ouranoupoli beaches. From here you have stunning views toward the Holy Mountain.
Evening: Dinner by the sea. Sunset with Athos in the distance is one of Halkidiki's most magical moments.
📅 Day 7 — Mount Athos cruise (optional) + departure
Morning: Cruise around Mount Athos (~3-4 hours, €25-40). The boat approaches within 500m of the coast — see the monasteries from the sea. (Note: only men with a diamonitirion permit can enter Mount Athos itself.)
Lunch: Back at the harbour. Eat. Check out.
Afternoon: Drive back to Thessaloniki (~2 hours) or head straight to your border.
🚗 Total kilometres
Total: ~450 km inside Halkidiki (excluding the kilometres to/from Halkidiki). Plus ~150 km of daily "exploration" between beaches.
💰 Indicative budget (2 people, mid-range)
- 7 nights accommodation: €500-1200
- Food: €300-500 (€20-35/person/day)
- Fuel: €60-100
- Site fees (Kavourotrypes parking etc.): €10-30
- Athos cruise: €60-100
- Total: €930-1930 (excluding tolls to/from your country)
💡 Pro tips
- Pack light: Every accommodation change = packing/unpacking. Two bases (Kassandra 2 nights, Sithonia 3 nights, Ouranoupoli 2 nights) is the most practical setup.
- Morning swim: Beaches empty out 7-9. Better photos, fewer crowds.
- Local lunch: Eat lunch in the traditional inland villages (Parthenonas, Kalamitsi, Afytos). Cheaper and more authentic.
- Reservation tip: High-season tavernas require booking — call or message ahead.
- Avoid weekend departures at the border: If you're heading back Friday/Saturday, set off early (before 8 AM) to skip the queues.
