Platanitsi

Platanitsi is a beautiful seaside area on the eastern coast of Sithonia, just south of Sarti. It's known for its striking, quiet beaches and wild, natural landscape with views toward Mount Athos.

Beaches

Platanitsi beach and the neighbouring shores (Megalo Portokali, Achlada) have deep-blue, shallow water, pebbles and sand, and a magical natural setting — among the most beautiful in southern Sithonia.

What sets it apart

Unlike the organised resorts, Platanitsi keeps a more natural, calm character, a favourite for those wanting swimming in clear water and snorkelling away from the crowds.

A few tavernas and beach bars offer fresh fish and a drink with a view, at a relaxed pace.

Getting there and around

It's about 2 hours by car from Thessaloniki. Very close is Sarti (~4 km) with its amenities, while Sykia is nearby.

Ideal for couples and nature lovers wanting deep-blue water and quiet. Main season is May–September.
