Ormos Panagias Beach

Ormos Panagias beach is inside the seaside village of the same name in north-eastern Sithonia, next to the small harbour where the Mount Athos cruises leave. It's a free sandy beach with shallow, calm water inside the bay, convenient for families and for anyone waiting for the boat to leave or return.

Because it's in the village, everything is close: fish tavernas, cafés and a mini-market are a few steps from the sand. The boats to the Diaporos islets also leave from the same harbour, so you can combine a swim and a boat trip on the same day.

If you want somewhere quieter or bigger, several beaches are a short distance away: Latoura about 700 metres, Trani Ammouda a kilometre and Lagoon a little further. Vourvourou, with Karydi and its islets, is about ten minutes' drive south, and the village of Agios Nikolaos, with its plane-shaded square, is even closer.
